Vulcanized Fibre
A dense cellulose material, chemically treated to be hard, tough
and resilient. A good electrical insulator resistant to arcing and
tracking but with relatively high water absorption. Red Fibre is
standard, but Grey Fibre and Black Fibre are also available in sheet
thickness 0.6 to 6mm. Laminating sheets above 6mm thick are also
available.
Vulcanized Fibre has succeeded in many manufacturing branches as
a material for sealing and insulation elements.
The reason for its success lies in its excellent physical dielectric
properties. Vulcanized Fibre in not only electrical insulation,
it can even be bent precisely, punched and embossed.
These properties are only possible by using high grade raw materials,
which are manufactured in a strictly controlled production process.
